Arch is looking for a Finance Summer Intern to gain practical, hands-on experience within the insurance industry, specifically focusing on captive finance. You will learn the insurance landscape and its process flow while working directly with our Captive Finance Management team. This role is designed to provide exposure to key financial operations in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
- Gain knowledge of the insurance landscape and captive business through side-by-side training with the Captive Finance Management team.
- Prepare cession statements for an assigned book of business.
- Prepare the Reinsurance Statement of Account to Reinsurance Brokers and/or Reinsurers in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare and process Cash Receipts and Disbursements, and the payment and/or recovery of reinsurance.
- Prepare Letter of Credit Funding Requirements on a quarterly basis and submit to Reinsurers/Captives.
- Research and analyze based on client requests on an ad hoc basis.
- Communicate and interact frequently with the Underwriting team, Reinsurers/Captives, and various external and internal contacts.
- Complete key assignments and special projects assigned on an ad hoc basis, such as reconciliation of account balances or organization of captive files.
What We're Looking For
- Actively completing an area of study in Accounting, Finance, or a related program.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
- College level: current Senior student, with graduation dates ranging from December 2026 – May 2027.
- Basic understanding of accounting and finance principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to successfully communicate with the internal Captive Financial Management team regarding work product and client inquiries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables.
- Team player who collaborates effectively.
- Self-starter who can work independently and deal effectively with multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
