Arch is looking for a Property & Specialty Underwriting Summer Intern to join an 8-week program focused on practical learning and contribution. You'll immerse yourself in the core functions of underwriting within a company culture built on collaboration and expertise.
What You'll Do
- Participate in education sessions covering property and specialty underwriting, analysis, and networking.
- Receive hands-on training and work directly with underwriters and assistant underwriting teams.
- Learn and navigate underwriting systems, processes, and account setup procedures.
- Assist the team with tasks and provide research to develop your understanding of the field.
- Set goals, prioritize tasks, and stay accountable to stakeholders to achieve results.
- Collaborate with fellow interns on group activities, including an end-of-program capstone project.
What We're Looking For
- Currently pursuing a degree in Insurance & Risk Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a relevant program.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA or higher.
- College level: current Junior student.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A team player who collaborates effectively with others.
- A self-starter who works independently and manages multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is strongly preferred.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to be a continuous learner.
Team & Environment
You will work alongside underwriters and the assistant underwriting team, integrating directly into daily operations.

- This intern position is eligible for select Arch benefits.
- For individuals assigned to work in Morristown, NJ, the hourly rate is $26 as of the time of posting.
