This role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of the Irish entity, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting in line with IFRS standards. Reporting to the General Manager in Poland with a functional link to the Group Finance Director in Canada, the Finance Associate plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity across multiple areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and employee expense claims with precision and timeliness
- Manage daily transactions and prepare accurate bank reconciliations
- Administer end-to-end payroll for employees in Ireland and Poland
- Prepare, file, and remit VAT returns and other tax obligations
- Lead monthly and quarterly close procedures, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and revenue deferrals
- Reconcile critical balance sheet accounts such as cash, work in progress, fixed assets, intercompany balances, and accrued liabilities
- Record and analyze financial transactions to ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
- Upload and maintain account reconciliations in BlackLine on a monthly basis
- Support annual audits by coordinating with external auditors and accounting providers
- Contribute to internal control reviews, risk assessments, and process optimization projects
- Prepare and analyze statutory financial statements and regulatory filings
- Document accounting procedures and support system or process upgrades
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support to finance stakeholders as required
Qualifications
Candidates should have at least three years of experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping. Experience with VAT filings, payroll processing, and IFRS—particularly IFRS 15 and IFRS 16—is essential. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, capable of meeting strict monthly deadlines, and able to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
A formal qualification in accounting, finance, or business is preferred, though equivalent experience will be considered. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Ireland, as visa sponsorship is not available.
Technology Environment
The role utilizes enterprise systems including Great Plains, BlackLine, NetSuite ERP, OneStream, Sage, and Sage Payroll.
