Carl Zeiss Vision Canada Inc. is looking for a Field Service Technician to install, service, and calibrate our high-tech machines directly at customer locations. In this essential role, you’ll work with cross-functional teams, support R&D initiatives, and ensure our products deliver excellence.
What You'll Do
- Install, repair, troubleshoot, service, and calibrate high-tech machines at customer locations.
- Interact with customers and cross-functional service groups that support and launch ZEISS products.
- Aid the R&D team with engineering work related to design, build, and new system testing.
- Support the production of systems during various stages of assembly and setup.
- Perform necessary administrative paperwork in a complete and accurate manner.
- Work independently in a high-pressure, fast-paced, and innovative environment.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of a High School graduate, completed GED, or equivalent.
- Or, a Tech School, associate, or bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline such as Electronics or Industrial Mechanics.
- Or, training and experience from a Military Technical School.
- Prior experience working with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
- Microsoft operating system knowledge is required.
- Capable of an unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Able and willing to work a minimum of 50 hours per work week.
- Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment.
- Valid Driver License required.
- Excellent communication and customer service aptitude.
- Travel requirement is 90-100% within the service area, including international travel as needed.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
- Previous CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) installation and troubleshooting experience.
