About the Role

Carl Zeiss Vision Canada Inc. is hiring a Supervisor, Field Service to oversee Field Service Engineers (FSEs) and ensure operational excellence across a territory. You will be responsible for managing a significant profit center, driving customer satisfaction, and leading a team focused on servicing ophthalmic instrumentation.

What You'll Do

  • Manage an assigned territory as an individual profit center, responsible for territories averaging $5M or more in revenue.
  • Direct, counsel, and develop Field Service Engineers to improve their performance and productivity.
  • Review work assignments and balance workloads across the team.
  • Promote regional growth by actively identifying and targeting potential new business.
  • Travel with FSEs to coach, audit performance, and conduct physical trunk inventories.
  • Prepare employee evaluations, recommend salary adjustments, and monitor vacation schedules.
  • Prospect, interview, hire, and train new employees when vacancies exist.
  • Provide timely response to requests from internal and external customers and resolve satisfaction survey issues.
  • Act as a sales department liaison to achieve customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Provide service support at National and Regional Conferences and Conventions.
  • Work with Customer Care management to establish strategy for customer support policies.
  • Control daily expenses, maximize revenue opportunities, and submit weekly expense reports.
  • Partner with Sales Representatives and proactively manage key accounts.
  • Ensure direct reports maintain company-issued test equipment and support tools.
  • Consistently identify and qualify up-selling and new sales opportunities.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in field service of Electronics, Fine Mechanics, Electro-mechanical, Data Networks, Optics, or Medical Field Service.
  • Ability to travel in the US and internationally for training, meetings, and coverage.
  • Ability to obtain sufficient credit to cover incurred business expenses.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
  • Capability to stand or walk for thirty percent of the average workday.

Nice to Have

  • BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience in the eye care industry.
  • Thorough understanding of ophthalmic anatomy and diseases of the eye; CCOA certification.
  • Supervisory or managerial experience.
  • Strong business acumen and broad technical knowledge of CZMI instrumentation.

Team & Environment

You will supervise a team of Field Service Engineers and work closely with Service Coordinators, OS/MS Specialists, Sales Managers, and Distributor Partners.
