Technical Manager, On Your Side Auto Repair Network (Pennsylvania – Remote with Local Travel)
Role Overview
This position leads the relationship between the insurance provider and its network of authorized auto repair facilities across Pennsylvania. Working remotely with regular in-person visits to vendor locations, the Technical Manager ensures repair shops meet performance, compliance, and customer service standards. Reporting to a Director, this role acts as a primary point of contact for vendor partners and supports the integrity of the claims process through technical evaluation, file reviews, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the main liaison between the insurer and OYSARN-affiliated repair shops, managing contracts and ongoing relationships
- Conduct performance evaluations, including on-site and virtual re-inspections of claims files
- Review open and closed claims to verify adherence to state regulations and internal claims policies
- Identify trends and areas for improvement, reporting findings to leadership
- Complete quarterly shop assessments and support procedural audits as assigned
- Assist in technical claims reviews, fraud detection, and subrogation preparation
- Support claims best practices by providing input on file quality and resolution processes
- Collaborate with investigative and recovery units to identify potential fraud and recovery opportunities
- Address customer concerns related to repair quality and claims handling
- Participate in special projects, training initiatives, and compliance activities aligned with corporate goals
- Travel regularly within Pennsylvania, including overnight stays when necessary
- Be available for catastrophe response, which may require extended hours and deployment to affected areas
Required Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience
- State-specific licensing where applicable
- Completion of required claims certification programs
- 3–5 years of experience in property, casualty, or material damage claims
- Strong understanding of claims lifecycle: investigation, resolution, and settlement
- Familiarity with insurance principles, policy language, and claims systems
- Proven ability to analyze claims files and make independent, sound decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with PC-based tools and software
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently within Pennsylvania
- Capacity to work extended or irregular hours as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of advanced claims training or certification programs
- Participation in industry-specific education (e.g., CPCU, ICAR, ASE)
- Background in technical claims evaluation
Work Environment
This is a remote position based in Pennsylvania, with frequent local travel required to visit vendor repair shops. The role supports a network dedicated to high-quality auto repairs and customer satisfaction. Work hours may vary, especially during catastrophe events.
Compensation & Benefits
The expected starting salary range is $87,000 – $131,000, with a national range up to $162,000. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage; life and disability insurance; paid time off; nine paid holidays; designated personal and unity days; 401(k) with company match; and a company-paid pension plan. Business casual dress policy applies to in-person visits.
