Carl Zeiss Vision Canada Inc. is hiring a Field Service Technician to install, service, and calibrate high-tech machines at customer locations across the service area. In this role, you will support production, aid R&D with engineering work, and travel extensively while providing exceptional customer service.
What You'll Do
- Install, repair, troubleshoot, service, and calibrate high-tech machines at customer locations.
- Apply customer service skills with a high level of passion and dedication.
- Learn new skills on high-tech CMMs (Coordinate Measuring Machines) utilizing mechanical and electronic aptitude.
- Complete necessary administrative paperwork accurately and thoroughly.
- Work independently in a solutions-oriented way within a high-pressure, fast-paced, and innovative environment.
- Travel 90-100% within the service area, including international travel as needed.
- Aid the R&D team with engineering work related to design, build, and new system testing.
- Support the production of systems during various stages of assembly and setup.
What We're Looking For
- Must live within 50 miles of Valparaiso, IN.
- Minimum of a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- An AS/BS in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics, training from a Military Technical School, or 4 years of related experience.
- Prior experience working with hand tools and basic electrical test equipment.
- Required knowledge of Microsoft operating systems.
- Capable of an unassisted physical lift of one article weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Able and willing to work a minimum of 50 hours per work week.
- Ability to work in an industrial production shop floor environment.
- Valid Driver License.
- Excellent communication and customer service aptitude.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience installing and troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines, or computer systems.
- Previous CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) installation and troubleshooting experience.
