About the Role

Brenntag North America, Inc. is hiring an External Account Manager - Personal Care to drive sales and manage customer accounts across the Midlands and South of the UK. You'll be responsible for promoting our specialty product range and delivering sustainable, profitable growth for the business.

What You'll Do

  • Promote Brenntag’s specialty product range and services to all current and prospective customers within your designated area and market.
  • Deliver sustainable profitable growth by taking the lead on customer management, lead generation, and conversion of new business.
  • Establish and maintain a visit schedule aligned with account value, competitive risk, and customer support requirements.
  • Manage accounts against set targets, including mandatory face-to-face sales call quotas each month.
  • Accurately document customer meetings and establish rigorous follow-up mechanisms to maintain momentum and close sales deals.
  • Maintain the CRM database by updating customer contacts daily, recording visit notes, completing details on customer potentials, updating opportunities, and raising sample tickets.
  • Communicate with relevant team members to follow up on any actions from customer interactions.
  • Maintain customer pricing, update quotations using the system, and communicate and negotiate as needed.
  • Liaise with Technical Sales Managers and Industry Market Managers to maximize sales opportunities.
  • Arrange and attend joint customer visits with stakeholders including Technical Sales Managers and Suppliers.
  • Proactively liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve customer queries and issues promptly.
  • Build customer loyalty and develop knowledge of their business to highlight potential products from Brenntag’s range.
  • Prepare monthly reports for your sales area with insights into customer activity, market information, and competitor intelligence.
  • Analyze sales performance trends and react accordingly to any lost or threatened business.
  • Seek and report competitive insights to inform strategy and purchasing or pricing tactics.

What We're Looking For

  • A full UK driving license.

Nice to Have

  • Sales experience, ideally within the Personal Care industry.

Team & Environment

You will be part of the Personal Care team, working closely with Technical Sales Managers and Industry Market Managers.

Work Mode

This position operates on a hybrid basis, with a territory covering the Midlands and South of the UK.
