Hunt St is seeking an Estimator / Planner (014 - 541) to serve as the vital engine room of our operations, bridging the gap between engineering theory and workshop execution. This role involves orchestrating complex production schedules for Structural, Mechanical, and Piping (SMP) projects within our family-operated firm that values technical precision and streamlined lead times.
What You'll Do
- Review client drawings and specifications with an SMP focus.
- Perform accurate material takeoffs and calculate coating or painting requirements.
- Prepare and send Requests for Quotes (RFQs) to Australian vendors.
- Compile data to assist the Project Manager in finalizing client proposals.
- Coordinate material procurement to ensure on-time delivery.
- Liaise directly with vendors via email and phone to track orders.
- Plan workshop schedules based on material availability and machine capacity.
- Use MaintainX to schedule internal maintenance, balancing production needs with machine uptime.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in Structural, Mechanical, and Piping (SMP) engineering or Steel Fabrication.
- Superior written and verbal English proficiency.
- Strong analytical skills for precise estimating.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Gmail, Meet, Chat).
Nice to Have
- Basic CAD skills (AutoCAD or Fusion 360) for simple concept sketches.
- Knowledge of industrial coating (blasting/painting) or rubber lining processes.

Benefits & Compensation
