Apex Companies is hiring an ESG/Sustainability Consultant 2

ApexCompanies is looking for an ESG/Sustainability Consultant 2 to join our growing Sustainability and ESG Consulting Services Practice. In this remote role, you will support and manage a variety of projects for external clients, from verifying ESG data to evaluating climate risks and helping clients set meaningful goals.

What You'll Do

• Manage and conduct verification of corporate sustainability reporting data under standards like GRI, SASB, TCFD, and CDP.
• Perform 3rd-party verification of greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1, 2, and 3.
• Create inventory management plans for greenhouse gases and other key sustainability metrics.
• Develop comprehensive sustainability inventories for public and stakeholder reporting.
• Assist in monitoring market trends and regulatory changes, communicating updates to clients and internal teams.
• Support the establishment of organizational goals, targets, and KPIs.
• Evaluate climate change risks and opportunities and conduct quantitative policy analysis.
• Support science-based target setting and quantitative climate scenario analysis.
• Communicate effectively with project teams in a primarily virtual environment.
• Engage with client teams across multiple ESG topics and datasets.
• Manage project data for record-keeping, audit, and quality assurance.
• Identify and obtain relevant credentials as the sustainability industry evolves.

What We're Looking For

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, Data Science, Economics, Business, or Public Policy.
• At least 2 years of professional experience in an environmental, ESG, or sustainability role.
• Strong quantitative analysis and technical writing skills.
• Ability to successfully balance competing project deadlines.
• Experience with data management and report preparation.
• Excellent attention to detail and time-management skills.
• Safety awareness and a good understanding of safe work practices.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel.
• Ability to record information accurately and concisely for future recall.
• Must be willing and able to travel approximately 5-10% of the time.
• Sponsorship is not available for this position now or in the future.
