CVS Health is looking for a Clinical Counselor to join our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) team. This fully remote role centers on providing telephone-based support in a call center environment, caring for members through assessment, counseling, and connection to resources.
What You'll Do
- Provide telephone-based clinical assessment, triage, consultation, and counseling.
- Conduct advanced clinical assessments using motivational interviewing and solution-focused techniques.
- Perform risk, substance abuse, and mental health assessments to develop immediate safety plans.
- Recommend appropriate levels of care based on assessed needs.
- Collaborate with members to understand their needs and align with their theory of change.
- Provide information on mental health, substance abuse, and community resources to assist with linkage.
- Collaborate with a professional team to support positive clinical outcomes and continuity of care.
- Use multitasking skills to document calls while utilizing other call-handling tools.
- Protect member confidentiality and adhere to all enterprise and EAP policies.
- Maintain accurate and complete documentation meeting risk management and regulatory requirements.
- Work expected holidays.
What We're Looking For
- 1+ years of crisis intervention experience.
- Valid, unrestricted independent professional behavioral health clinical license to practice per state regulations in your state of residence (e.g., LPC, LMFT, LCSW, LMHC, LCMHC, LICSW, LISW, Clinical Psychologist or equivalent).
Nice to Have
- 1+ years of experience in an EAP, Behavioral Health, or Social Services setting.
- Experience working with diverse populations.
- Familiarity with brief therapy models and Motivational Interviewing.
- Call Center work experience.
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport quickly to develop a high level of customer trust.
- Experience in facilitating positive behavior change.
- Strong computer and literacy skills.
- Experience handling mental health, psychiatric care, family situations, and relationship concerns.
