Stride, Inc. is looking for an Elementary Special Education Teacher to join the Missouri Digital Academy (MODA), a Stride K12 partner school. This is a full-time remote position where you will deliver course content online, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs as defined by their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
What You'll Do
- Ensure all IEP-determined special education and related services are provided.
- Communicate with parents and related service staff to coordinate student therapies.
- Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and other state-required documentation.
- Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP reviews.
- Use provided resources to implement student accommodations and modifications.
- Modify Stride K12 lessons and assessments as specified by IEPs.
- Ensure the inclusion and success of students in the general education classroom.
- Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals.
- Document all parent contact and student interventions.
- Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment.
- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences.
- Maintain an accurate grade book and alert administrators to integrity concerns.
- Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.
- Establish positive rapport with families through regular communication.
- Support learning coaches and parents with curricular and instructional issues.
- Travel up to 20% of the time for professional development, testing, and school events.
What We're Looking For
- Missouri Elementary Special Education Teaching Certification.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Active state teaching license.
- Ability to clear a required background check.
- Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week.
- Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office.
- Ability to collaborate with teachers to interpret and produce numeric and graphic student data.
- Receptive to receiving regular coaching from administrators.
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word; PowerPoint.
- Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience working with the elementary age group.
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology.
- Experience teaching online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment.
- Experience with an online learning platform.

- We anticipate the salary range to be $52,000. Eligible employees may receive a bonus.
