Cengage Group is hiring an Education Field Sales Consultant to represent our digital product solutions in the K-12 market. In this remote role based in the NYC area, you will meet with prospective customers, partner with district decision-makers, and directly impact student achievement through education.
What You'll Do
- Meet with prospective customers to explore and present digital product solutions for the K-12 market.
- Achieve and exceed sales revenue goals while managing assigned budgets.
- Partner with high-level district decision-makers to present broad Cengage solutions, including supplemental and library resources.
- Seek new opportunities for growth to develop market share within your sales territory.
- Participate in network building through conferences, group presentations, and industry functions.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of curriculum needs for K-12 teachers and librarians.
- A proven record of consistent sales and goal achievement.
- A focus on diagnosing needs before pitching solutions.
- Ability to propose personalized, relevant solutions based on specific district or classroom challenges.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with customers, partners, and colleagues.
- Ability to articulate how a solution complements core curriculum and improves outcomes.
- Proactive approach to building targeted lead generation strategies.
- Ability to prioritize territory activity to balance new business development with existing account growth.
- Able to align product offerings with state or district learning objectives.
- Comfort discussing instructional strategies and educational trends with educators and administrators.
- Ability to maintain a home office with hours aligned with school schedules.
Nice to Have
- Proven track record selling into K–12 schools or districts.
- Prior experience as an educator, librarian, instructional coach, or in curriculum development.
- Technology proficiency and ability to discuss online access and how technology impacts the classroom.
- Skill in constructing a strong sales pipeline, from finding opportunities to validating leads.
- Aptitude for operating in changing environments with innovative, customized solutions.
Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation range: $88,600.00 - $115,200.00 USD.
Work Mode
This is a remote position requiring residency in the New York City area.
