About the Role

What You'll Do

Support the smooth operation of Emergency Department visits by managing patient intake, registration, and documentation processes. You will verify patient identities, collect demographic and financial details, and initiate medical and billing records with precision. Your responsibilities include assembling and organizing charts for admissions and discharges, ensuring all required forms are completed and properly distributed.

Use eRecord systems to maintain accurate patient data and support workflow efficiency. You will monitor patient locations within the department, manage tracking systems, and correct registration or billing discrepancies. Play a key role in reducing follow-up tasks by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve accuracy.

Act as a resource for department staff by providing training on registration procedures, customer service standards, and departmental workflows. You will orient new team members, support ongoing education initiatives, and assist in maintaining compliance with documentation requirements prior to patient discharge.

Verify insurance information for new and self-pay patients, follow up on hold bill reports to support reimbursement, and collect applicable co-pays. Respond to incoming calls, triage patient concerns, assess urgency, and direct communications appropriately. Serve as a point of contact for complaints and coordinate patient transportation when needed.

Support daily department functions by monitoring supply inventory, placing orders, and managing forms. You may also assist patients directly by escorting them, providing comfort items, witnessing consent forms, and handling chart requests for audits or follow-up care.
