As a Field Maintenance Engineer, you’ll work directly in customer homes across Walthamstow and surrounding areas, installing and maintaining intelligent security systems. Your role ensures each system is tailored to the property’s layout and risks, with a strong focus on getting it right the first time.
What You'll Do
- Conduct thorough property assessments to determine optimal placement and configuration of security devices
- Install and configure alarm systems with precision, ensuring full functionality and user readiness
- Diagnose and resolve technical faults, including recurring false alarms, using logical troubleshooting methods
- Educate customers on system operation, safety features, and best practices for ongoing security
- Maintain accurate inventory of equipment and ensure company vehicle is serviced and road-ready
- Deliver consistent, professional service that prioritizes safety, clarity, and reliability
Requirements
- Valid UK manual driving licence, with no major endorsements
- Strong spoken and written English to communicate clearly with customers and team members
- Proficiency with hand tools and comfort working at height using step ladders
- Ability to make sound technical decisions under time constraints
- Enthusiastic, self-driven attitude toward maintenance and problem-solving
- Interest in security technology and a willingness to stay updated on system advancements
- Successful completion of a DBS check, arranged by the company upon offer

Work Schedule
This is a local, city-based role requiring 40–48 hours per week. Shifts rotate between 9am–6pm and 11am–8pm, Monday through Friday, including bank holidays. Saturdays are worked on a one-on, one-off rotation. All travel is within North East London, primarily centered in Walthamstow.
