Allstate is looking for an Early Career Trial Attorney to join our team. In this remote role based in Houston, TX, you will handle bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, managing cases through trials, arbitrations, and mediations. You'll provide counsel to business clients, coordinate between legal teams, and monitor new laws and regulations to ensure sharp legal strategies.
What You'll Do
- Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict, including assessment, discovery, depositions, motions, negotiations, and courtroom advocacy.
- Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.
- Conduct legal research on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents; prepare summaries and reports.
- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
- Interview clients and witnesses, draft statement summaries, and maintain communication records.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, and other proceedings to observe, assist, or represent the company in routine matters.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations, assisting in updating the team on potential impacts to cases.
- Participate in training and mentorship programs to develop legal skills and gain exposure to more complex work.
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
- Successful completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis, demonstrating strong research and drafting skills.
- Strong time management skills, effectively balancing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Capable of organizing case files, managing legal documents, and understanding the discovery process.
- Skilled in communicating with clients, preparing summaries, and maintaining interaction records.
- Well-versed in legal ethics and standards of professional conduct.
- Equipped with fundamental negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions and settlements.
- Must be a commutable distance to courthouses throughout the Houston, TX area.

This is a remote position requiring the attorney to be based in and commutable to the Houston, TX metropolitan area.
