District Sales Manager responsible for expanding market presence and optimizing distributor performance in a defined territory. You will partner with independent distributors to improve sales outcomes, ensure operational excellence, and support onboarding of new franchisees through immersive field training.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive achievement of annual sales targets by enhancing distributor route performance and identifying opportunities for network expansion
- Conduct Field Excellence Meetings on a recurring basis to align district teams on best practices and performance goals
- Spend 3–4 days per week in the field conducting ride-alongs to coach distributors, evaluate operations, and reinforce effective sales techniques
- Lead recruitment initiatives to onboard new franchisees, including comprehensive two-week training and truck setup support
- Perform route surveys for new and existing distributors to ensure optimal product placement and service delivery
- Support participation in technical education events and student-focused trade shows to build brand visibility
- Manage credit approvals and adjustments at the regional level in alignment with business guidelines
- Collaborate with regional leadership to develop action plans for underperforming distributors
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of field sales experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or coaching capacity
- Proven track record in recruiting and developing independent business operators
- Familiarity with the automotive repair and mobile tool distribution industry
- Experience as a small business owner or in mentoring small business leaders preferred
- Ability to lift over 10 pounds and perform physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, and bending during product demonstrations and truck setups
Work Environment
Remote position based in Albany, NY or Pittsfield, MA, with approximately 80% local travel required. Role involves regular field visits, distributor coaching, and event participation. Occasional travel for training may be necessary.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary range of $85,000 – $100,000 annually, with potential sign-on payment.
