Gilead Sciences, Inc. is looking for a Director, US Medical Affairs - HIV Prevention Scientific Engagement lead to join our team. This pivotal role identifies and engages healthcare providers, with an emphasis on integrated delivery networks (IDNs) and Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), to drive HIV prevention education and align treatment practices with current evidence. Reporting to the USMA HIV Prevention Field and Strategy Lead, you will work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders across medical, commercial, and market access teams.
What You'll Do
- Support the execution of US Medical Affairs goals for HIV disease state education and treatment guidelines, focusing on IDN and FQHC decision-makers.
- Provide cross-functional input and scientific support to internal stakeholders to ensure alignment of HIV prevention content.
- Engage with healthcare decision-makers at IDN and FQHC levels to ensure treatment practices and guidelines reflect the latest evidence.
- Partner to leverage digital platforms for enhancing engagement with HCPs on HIV prevention topics.
- Support the development and delivery of virtual scientific discussions, webinars, and online medical education programs.
- Work with commercial, regulatory, and medical affairs teams to integrate medical insights into external engagement strategies.
- Communicate key medical goals effectively to internal and external stakeholders, translating complex scientific data.
- Stay abreast of the latest HIV prevention research, guidelines, and regulatory updates.
- Represent the company in external medical forums and engage with KOLs and HCPs.
- Ensure all medical content and virtual engagement activities are compliant with regulatory, legal, and company standards.
- Maintain high standards for scientific integrity and quality assurance in all deliverables.
What We're Looking For
- MD, DO, NP, PA, PharmD, PhD, or other advanced healthcare or life science degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Focus on infectious diseases, HIV, vaccines, or COVID-19 related therapeutic areas.
- Strong understanding of the US healthcare landscape, including IDNs, HCPs, payers, and policy makers.
- Strong scientific and medical writing skills with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to analyze complex scientific data and translate it into clear, actionable insights.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a cross-functional team.
Team & Environment
Reports to the USMA HIV Prevention Field and Strategy Lead. Works cross-functionally with other HIV prevention internal stakeholders and collaborates with the US commercial team.

- Compensation: Bay Area: $243,100.00 - $314,600.00. Other US Locations: $221,000.00 - $286,000.00.
