About the Role

The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Director of Programs & Development to drive our community and corporate sponsorship strategy and oversee our portfolio of signature events and professional development programs. You will play a key role in supporting the Chamber’s mission through strategic partnership cultivation and flawless event execution.

What You'll Do

  • Recruit, cultivate, secure, and retain community and corporate sponsors in partnership with the Vice President of Corporate Development.
  • Identify new sponsor prospects and develop appropriate engagement opportunities across Chamber events and programs.
  • Create sponsorship benefit packages and collaborate with marketing to promote Chamber investments.
  • Serve as the primary planner for the Chamber’s largest events and provide supervisory oversight for smaller events and programs.
  • Manage all logistical needs for events and ensure they stay within established budgets.
  • Oversee the Development & Events Manager, Program Coordinator, and Development Coordinator.
  • Promote Chamber programs through active solicitation of attendee participation and community partnerships.
  • Act as lead event contact for the Greater Phoenix Chamber Foundation and Arizona Chamber Executives.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to help accomplish the organizational mission.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong negotiation strategies, and the ability to establish professional relationships.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work independently and move projects forward with minimal supervision.
  • Analytical ability to solve problems, anticipate challenges, and identify opportunities.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to stay organized while handling multiple tasks and projects.
  • Highly motivated to learn, grow professionally, and work in a team environment.
  • Proficient in all MS Office products.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Word, and database management software.
  • Ability to maintain a neat and professional appearance.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice to Have

  • 4+ years of experience in event or program management.
  • 2+ years in fund development or sponsor solicitation.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of public policy, current affairs, and business trends.

Team & Environment

You will supervise a team of three: a Development & Events Manager, Program Coordinator, and Development Coordinator. You will report to the Vice President of Corporate Development & Strategic Investments and collaborate closely with them on sponsor strategy. Cross-functional collaboration with other Chamber departments is essential for success.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Salary range: $80,000 - $85,000

Work Mode

This position operates on a hybrid schedule and is based in Phoenix, Arizona.
