About the Role

Horizon Recovery is looking for a Director of Operations to provide leadership and oversight for our growing Sleep Medicine practice. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily operations across our two locations, ensuring efficiency, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient care while driving growth and profitability.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of both practice locations to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with clinical staff for proper scheduling and patient flow.
  • Ensure both locations are fully staffed, including hiring, training, and managing administrative and support staff.
  • Manage maintenance and procurement of office equipment and medical supplies.
  • Oversee the DME (CPAP) staff and business.
  • Develop and manage the practice’s budget, including forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Oversee billing and coding processes for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor accounts receivable and payable to maximize collections and reduce outstanding balances.
  • Conduct regular financial reviews and present findings to practice owners.
  • Identify and implement strategies to increase profitability and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Develop and implement policies to maintain privacy and security of patient information.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with clinical and administrative standards.
  • Manage risk by implementing safety protocols and training staff on emergency procedures.
  • Ensure a high standard of patient care and satisfaction across both locations.
  • Address and resolve patient complaints and concerns promptly.
  • Oversee management of patient records for accuracy, confidentiality, and legal compliance.
  • Implement patient feedback systems to continually improve patient experience.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise administrative and support staff, including sleep lab staff.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching and professional development.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure clear communication and address issues.
  • Implement staff development and continuing education programs to maintain high care standards.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, employment policies, and healthcare regulations.
  • Foster a positive work environment promoting teamwork and professional growth.
  • Develop and implement staffing plans to ensure adequate coverage at both locations.
  • Work with the practice owner to develop and implement long-term strategic goals.
  • Identify opportunities for growth, including new services, partnerships, and expansion.
  • Monitor industry trends in sleep medicine to keep the practice competitive.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new patients and retain existing ones.
  • Oversee implementation and maintenance of electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software.
  • Ensure staff are properly trained on the use of technology systems.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve efficiency and patient care.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical practice management.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and CMS guidelines.
  • Experience in financial management, including budgeting, billing, and revenue cycle management.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems, practice management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with management of people and teams.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Strong time management, multi-tasking, task prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Strong critical thinking, investigational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong understanding of physician practice regulations and certifications.
  • Strong understanding of physician practice clinical workflow best practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of third-party payers, HMOs, PPOs, Medicare, Medicaid.
  • Knowledge and understanding of insurance benefits (deductibles, copays, coinsurance) and eligibility verification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of prior authorization / precertification.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA, OSHA, and other applicable regulations.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret financial data/reports.
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to the needs of the organization and employees.

Nice to Have

  • Master’s degree preferred.

Team & Environment

The practice includes a physician owner and four nurse practitioners. You will manage both clinical and administrative staff, including oversight of the sleep lab and staff, and you will report directly to the physician owner.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Compensation: Up to $15/hr.
