Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) is hiring a Director, Facilities Manager to be JLL's senior on-site representative and key point of contact. Based at the Australian Embassy in Paris, you will be responsible for ensuring the comprehensive facilities management of day-to-day activities for the embassy and other assigned sites within Europe. This role carries overall responsibility for managing all engineering and facilities management services, staff, contractors, equipment, and supplies.
What You'll Do
- Manage stakeholder relationships with the DFAT Senior Administration Officer, JLL staff, embassy personnel, tenants, and third-party vendors.
- Lead people management for assigned JLL staff and on-site third-party contractors, covering performance, morale, training, development, and communication.
- Handle risk management, including incident reporting, emergency response support, and required site attendance.
- Conduct property inspections and monitor activities at remote sites.
- Develop and manage Asset Management Planning.
- Ensure Quality Assurance, Health and Safety, and Engineering compliance.
- Manage procurement processes and contractor relationships.
- Oversee all maintenance and technical facilities operations.
- Manage minor works projects from inception to completion.
- Handle budget and financial management.
- Drive value-add and innovation initiatives within the account.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in facilities management, building, business, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of professional experience in facilities, property management, or a related field.
- Fluent in both English and French.
- Proven experience or demonstrated capability to work in a complex environment and manage remote sites.
- Detailed understanding of technical property aspects such as Computer Room Air-conditioning, Chiller systems, Fire Protection systems, Mechanical & Electrical systems, BMS, and Access control systems.
- Knowledge and experience in managing critical infrastructure, systems, and environments.
- Capacity to interpret and proactively manage commercial contracts.
- Strong budget management and financial analysis skills.
- Knowledge of local occupational health and safety requirements.
- A strong customer service-oriented attitude and ability to liaise effectively with high-level personnel.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities and work well under pressure.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the capacity to deal with ambiguity and solve complex issues effectively.
- Strong presentation and verbal/written communication skills in English.
- Flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing situations.
- Self-motivated, confident, and energetic approach to work.
Nice to Have
- Relevant United Kingdom or Australian government security clearance.
Team & Environment
You will be an integral part of the JLL Work Dynamics team on the DFAT account. You will report directly to the Regional Operations Lead for Europe & Africa.
