About the Role

Arch is hiring a Director, AMF - Secondary Markets to lead the secondary market activities of Arch Mortgage Funding (AMF). This role is central to executing the conduit's strategy, requiring leadership in pricing, hedging, portfolio management, and building the tools to evaluate performance.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and develop AMF’s pricing initiatives, assessing modeling assumptions and comparing projected versus actual loan performance.
  • Deliver AMF pricing to customers and provide oversight for the lock desk.
  • Evaluate and execute exit strategies for aggregated loans, including whole loan sales and securitization.
  • Develop take out buyers, negotiate MLPAs, review securitization documents, and negotiate financing agreements.
  • Recommend and implement portfolio management strategies to hedge pricing and interest rate risks.
  • Manage the daily evaluation and maintenance of AMF’s position, including NQM loans, pipeline, short positions, and retained bonds.
  • Coordinate with AMF management to design reports assessing secondary market strategy performance.
  • Direct the creation of tools to track market performance and its impact on AMF’s positions.
  • Establish relationships with platform vendors to accomplish secondary market goals.
  • Serve as the primary liaison to non-agency investors, managing pricing, delivery, and feedback.
  • Represent the company in investor due diligence, capital markets meetings, and client onboarding.
  • Provide market intelligence and product education to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Direct the work of a senior analyst to design tools and processes for monitoring portfolio performance.

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5 years of direct experience working in mortgage and secondary markets.
  • Familiarity with private label RMBS deal structures, cash flow modeling, and bond math.
  • Proficiency with capital markets platforms (e.g., MCT, Bloomberg, Intex, Yield Book).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, finance, economics, or relevant market experience.

Nice to Have

  • Basic familiarity with contract finance as it pertains to Mortgage Loan Purchase Agreements, warehouse financing/repo agreements, and securitization deal documents.
  • Experience with private-label securitizations and whole loan trading, particularly for NQM and DSCR mortgage transactions.
  • Master’s degree or pursuit of advanced finance education (CFA, etc.) in business, economics, finance, or related field, or relevant market experience.

  • Compensation for NC: $175,000 - $199,000/year.
