Avant Tech is hiring a Defense Employment Law Attorney specializing in the public sector. In this remote special counsel role, you will provide expert legal counsel on labor and employment matters for government entities and public organizations.
What You'll Do
- Provide legal guidance on employment law matters affecting public sector clients, including policies and procedures.
- Manage a diverse caseload, including litigation related to employment disputes, discrimination claims, harassment, and wrongful termination.
- Represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings.
- Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, severance agreements, and settlement agreements.
- Conduct training for staff on employment law compliance and best practices.
- Stay current with changes in employment law and regulatory requirements that affect public sector employers.
- Advise clients on disciplinary actions, grievances, and workplace investigations.
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution.
- 7+ years of experience in employment law and litigation.
- Active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience in litigation and representing clients in administrative and court proceedings.
- Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
