Valon Mortgage is seeking a Default Analyst - Bankruptcy to ensure our servicing operations fully comply with complex bankruptcy regulations. You will be a key member of the Default Servicing team, directly impacting our mission to make the mortgage experience simple, secure, and financially empowering for every homeowner.
What You'll Do
- Ensure end-to-end handling for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases.
- Process assigned loans in accordance with company policies, investor guidelines, and federal and state laws.
- Perform timely follow-up with attorneys on critical steps and request referrals on delinquent cases.
- Respond to attorney inquiries for additional information and escalate as needed.
- Audit attorney plan reviews and confirm appropriate action is being taken.
- Handle complex tasks and manual calculations, verifying borrower payment history and resolving discrepancies.
- Audit and review Motions for Relief, Agreed Orders, and Notices of Default for accuracy.
- Review and execute signature-required documents for court proceedings.
- Release loans to Production or Foreclosure upon termination of the bankruptcy stay.
- Status all new bankruptcy filings received via mail or electronic notification.
- Monitor the AACER Court Electronic Records website daily for updates.
- Review bankruptcy plans and Chapter 7 schedules.
- Prepare reaffirmation agreement packages and send them for execution.
What We're Looking For
- Thorough knowledge of loan servicing, foreclosure, and bankruptcy.
- Strong time-management skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize work assignments.
- Detail-oriented and self-motivated approach.
- Strong aptitude for assessing, understanding, and quantifying risk.
- High proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Team player with strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Proven track record of delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, mathematical skills, and sound judgment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
