Trane Technologies is hiring a Senior Controls Project Manager in Long Island City, NY. You will be responsible for project financials, administration, implementation, management, and customer satisfaction for all assigned projects within the Commercial HVAC Controls / Building Automation space. You will lead the project team through all facets of the project and act as the point of contact for all stakeholders.
What You'll Do
- Support sales functions by assisting with quote preparation and proposals.
- Manage change orders by recommending solutions, facilitating quotes and closing orders.
- Build customer relationships and implement corrective actions to support customer satisfaction initiatives.
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules, identifying tasks, dependencies, milestones, and resource constraints.
- Lead all project administration, including contract understanding, risk mitigation, scope validation, documentation, and safety guidelines.
- Financially manage all aspects of projects including cash flow, forecasting, expense monitoring, collections support, and project reviews.
- Collaborate with technicians, team leads, and other Project Managers to establish tasks, schedules, and communication plans.
- Oversee the subcontractor RFQ process, award subcontracts, manage execution, and foster professional relationships.
- Investigate and resolve customer concerns by implementing corrective actions and maintaining clear communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- A combination of a degree and/or 7-10 years of experience in HVAC Controls and Project Management.
- Proficient at resource and manpower planning.
- Experience in leading teams comprised of different technical skill levels.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 12 months, with a clean driving record as specified.
Nice to Have
- A degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Project Management.
- Experience working directly with building owners.
Team & Environment
The portfolio of projects will contain multi-building or complex controls projects. In this role, the Senior Controls PM will be expected to mentor team members and act as a subject matter expert on HVAC controls for the business.

- Compensation range: $124,000 - $164,000.
