The Control Analytics Manager will leverage expertise in risk, controls, and data analytics to design and build automated monitoring solutions and reusable frameworks at Monzo. This fixed-term role until the end of 2026 focuses on enhancing control testing through data-driven insights, automation, and advanced techniques like AI to help Monzo scale safely and sustainably.
What You'll Do
- Design and build automated queries, scripts, and dashboards using SQL, BigQuery, and Looker for Continuous Control Monitoring (CCM) to provide ongoing validation of material risks and controls.
- Create reusable code and automation frameworks to embed analytics into control testing.
- Explore advanced techniques, including AI, to improve efficiency, scalability, and automation across the control environment.
- Lead data analytics for ad-hoc, targeted reviews of specific risks or control themes to surface insights that strengthen assurance.
- Generate insights that help Monzo operate safely, efficiently, and at scale.
- Ensure control gaps identified through analytics are agreed with stakeholders and properly recorded.
- Collaborate with risk, audit, and business teams to ensure transparency, strengthen accountability, and promote a culture of proactive assurance.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in regulated financial services, professional services, or high-growth tech with a strong focus on control assurance and data-driven risk management.
- Highly skilled in SQL.
- Experience designing and building data analytics solutions for control testing, turning requirements into repeatable, automated approaches and continuous monitoring solutions.
- Analytical thinker who simplifies complexity, identifies systemic issues, and clearly communicates insights to business senior management.
- Thrives in fast-paced, evolving environments — resilient, proactive, and motivated to help Monzo scale safely and sustainably.
- Immediately available or has a notice period of 1 month or less.

- Looker and BigQuery experience.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub and automating data pipelines into BigQuery.
