Cohere is seeking a Content Policy Specialist for a one-year part-time contract requiring 20 hours per week to help ensure the safety of our Large Language Model. You will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and maintaining the safety content policies and guidelines that prevent unsafe model outputs, directly supporting our mission to scale intelligence to serve humanity.
What You'll Do
- Draft, review, edit, and maintain comprehensive and clear safety content policies and guidelines.
- Utilize documentation to track policy drafting, updates, and emerging needs throughout the policy lifecycle.
- Maintain and update the internal and external policy hub, ensuring policies are accessible and navigable.
- Develop multi-modal content policies addressing specific risks, including violence, image-based abuse, and CSEA/CSAM.
- Review and label examples of potentially harmful content to develop or refine policies and harm definitions.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working on LLM content policy.
- Understanding of the diverse range of potential LLM safety risks, especially those relevant to an enterprise LLM.
- Strong research and writing skills with the ability to maintain and organize extensive documentation.
- Passion for safety and previous experience in Trust & Safety, Content Policy, or AI Safety.
- Experience in content policy and/or AI safety across various geographic regions, including Europe, the Middle East, and East Asia.
- Enjoy collaborating with researchers, ML practitioners, and product managers.
- A self-starter who can work well independently with a distributed team.

You will collaborate with stakeholders across the EMEA region as part of a distributed team.
Work Mode
This position is remote-flexible; candidates must be located in the Eastern Time Zone.
