M&T Bank is seeking a Commercial Senior Relationship Manager to play a pivotal role on our Northern Virginia and Washington, DC Middle Market Banking team. In this position, you will manage and grow a portfolio of complex, high-value relationships with companies generating up to $1.5 billion in annual revenue. You'll work directly with senior executives to deliver comprehensive financial solutions, blending the resources of a large institution with a personalized, community-focused approach.

What You'll Do

Service customers seeking loan and/or deposit relationships of large dollar amounts and high complexity.
Interview applicants to understand their business needs, evaluate credit information, and make relationship recommendations.
Maximize department profitability by maintaining a high-quality loan portfolio.
Monitor existing loans to ensure conformity with terms and maintain current, complete credit files.
Participate in a formal call program to develop new loan, deposit, and fee-based business.
Follow market trends to increase the Bank's business in established and developing markets.
Represent the Bank in civic and community activities.
Manage and retain existing clients while working closely with internal partners to service them.
May coach and mentor junior relationship managers.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's Degree or four years of relevant experience.
Minimum of seven years of commercial portfolio management experience with a focus on Middle Market clients.
Financial analysis and knowledge of banking credit principles.
General knowledge of banking and the Bank's various commercial fee-based products.
Applied knowledge of Bank policies and procedures.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of personnel using diplomacy.
Ability to sell effectively to prospects and clients.
Excellent presentation skills.

Nice to Have

Experience with Government Contracting, Construction, Professional Services, Industrials, Manufacturing, or Technology sectors.
Deep industry and local market knowledge and an established professional network.
Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales goals.
