Join a growing team of design professionals seeking a dedicated Civil Engineer to manage complex land development projects. You will play a central role in shaping site infrastructure, including grading, utilities, stormwater systems, and access design for new and renovated facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop civil site plans for building projects, including parking layouts, pedestrian pathways, drainage systems, and erosion controls.
- Ensure all designs meet current stormwater detention and retention requirements at federal, state, and local levels.
- Collaborate with clients and regulatory agencies throughout project phases, from concept through final approval.
- Oversee projects from initial planning to construction completion, adjusting designs as needed based on field conditions.
- Conduct periodic site visits to verify construction adherence to engineering specifications and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required; dual licensure in North Carolina and South Carolina is advantageous, with a requirement to obtain for Charlotte-based work.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of seven years of relevant engineering experience, particularly in site development and permitting.
- Proven expertise in stormwater management, erosion control design, and low-impact development (LID) practices.
- Familiarity with federal projects, especially those involving DoD or industrial campuses, is preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 20%, including site inspections and client meetings.
Tools & Environment
Work is conducted in an office setting with extended periods at a computer. Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and the Microsoft Office Suite is essential. The role supports a collaborative team culture focused on innovation, long-term growth, and high-performance standards.
Work Model
