Banner Health Corporate is looking for a Charge Description Master Consultant to develop, maintain, and audit all patient charges across our healthcare system. You will ensure federal, state, and local regulatory compliance while managing routine maintenance and reviews for over 40 chargemasters.
What You'll Do
- Implement and maintain all changes, additions, and deletions for charge description master revisions to ensure federal and state compliance.
- Conduct internal reviews of charge description master coding and charging practices, identify and resolve issues, and provide education and training.
- Identify departments impacted by annual CPT-4/HCPCS and UB04 code revisions and ensure timely updates to charge description masters.
- Audit departments' charge description masters to ensure all patient charges are included, accurate, and complete.
- Participate in strategic pricing projects to ensure appropriate patient charges while maintaining budgeted revenue.
- Work with organizational entities, external auditors, federal and state government personnel, Medicare Fiscal Intermediary, managed care, contracted payors, CMS, and other regulatory agencies.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Four years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare billing, reimbursement, and/or coding.
- Knowledge of managed care contract and government payor compliance and reporting requirements.
- Technical knowledge of CPT-4/HCPCS and UB04 codes.
- Excellent organization, oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain highly confidential data.
Nice to Have
- Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or clinical experience and/or knowledge.
- Coding certification or an in-depth knowledge of medical coding.
- Additional related education and/or experience.
- 5+ years of hospital CDM experience.

Benefits & Compensation
- Compensation: $35.37 - $58.95 per hour, based on location, education, and experience.
