Role Summary
This contract position supports participants in data-focused training and employment programs across Australia. As a Career Success Coach, you will deliver personalized coaching, career development guidance, and job search support to adult learners. The role begins one week before program launch and continues through completion, working in close coordination with teaching assistants and operations staff to promote learner achievement.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly one-on-one coaching sessions, totaling up to 6 hours
- Offer 4–6 hours of weekly office hours for learner drop-ins
- Schedule and attend brief individual meetings as needed, not exceeding 8 hours per week
- Coordinate meeting times that align with learners’ availability
- Share weekly asynchronous updates with the Professional Development team
- Highlight learner achievements, identify those needing extra support, and relay program updates
- Attend bi-weekly 45-minute pod meetings for team alignment and strategic planning
- Log engagement data, session notes, and job search milestones weekly
- Document brief summaries after each coaching session focusing on job search progress
- Update job status for all learners in the cohort on a monthly basis
- Respond to all Slack and email messages within 24 hours
- Review and provide structured feedback on resumes and LinkedIn profiles using established guidelines
- Deliver input on three key assignments: initial resume draft, LinkedIn profile, and final resume
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of two years in career coaching, professional counseling, or job seeker support programs
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
- Proven ability to build trust and offer effective guidance to adult learners
- Experience delivering coaching services in a fully remote environment
- Demonstrated empathy and professionalism in communication
- Self-directed work style with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and capacity to adapt quickly to new tools
- Comfort using digital platforms including Google Workspace and Slack
- Familiarity with job markets in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide
- Understanding of Australia’s vocational education system (TAFE/VET)
- Knowledge of local job search platforms such as Seek and LinkedIn
- Awareness of resume standards and hiring practices in Australia
- Insight into skills-based hiring, particularly in the technology sector
Preferred Background
- Experience in university career services
- Work with TAFE or workforce development programs
- Involvement in tech bootcamps or coding schools
- Background in technical recruitment
Work Environment
This is a remote role requiring availability aligned with major Australian cities. Coaches must be able to engage learners during local business hours. The position uses Google Workspace and Slack for communication and documentation.
