OpenHands seeks a Business Development Representative (BDR) to fuel growth by identifying, engaging, and qualifying new business opportunities. As the first point of contact for prospects, you will build relationships and spark interest in the OpenHands platform. This high-impact, early-stage role is ideal for someone energized by outbound prospecting and strategic pipeline creation.
What You'll Do
- Research target accounts and market segments to build accurate prospect lists.
- Initiate outbound and inbound engagement through phone, email, LinkedIn, Slack, and X.
- Create and maintain a healthy pipeline of qualified leads for Account Executives.
- Schedule discovery calls and demos with Account Executives.
- Synthesize webinar, tradeshow, social engagement, and open source product activity into executive-level conversations.
- Maintain accurate activity tracking in Hubspot, Apollo, Reo.Dev, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
- Rapidly learn and communicate the OpenHands value proposition.
- Stay current on AI software and developer tooling trends and use current events to initiate conversations.
- Travel to tradeshows representing OpenHands.
What We're Looking For
- 1-3 years of experience in a sales development or business development role.
- Experience using CRM and sales engagement tools.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp new technical concepts and clearly explain complex solutions.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with confidence engaging technical leaders and executives.
- Highly self-motivated and effective in fast-moving startup environments with genuine enthusiasm for AI and software development.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with AI developer tools or SaaS platforms.
- Interest in AI/LLM-powered developer tools and open-source software.
