Caterpillar Inc. is looking for a Business Development Manager to lead a high-impact team that enables growth across Job Site Solutions (JSS), Condition Monitoring, and Caterpillar Safety Services. You will be responsible for turning data, strategy, and commercial execution into actionable growth, shaping how insights support dealers, strengthen contracts, and accelerate growth within Resource Industries (RI) and Construction Industries (CI).
What You'll Do
- Develop and deploy analysis and business tools that support lead generation, portfolio growth, and commercial execution.
- Partner with dealers and internal commercial teams to design tools that directly support selling, contracting, and customer value creation.
- Leverage data and analytics to deliver actionable insights, performance metrics, and reporting for internal teams and customers.
- Evaluate dealer and customer portfolios, contracts, and performance trends to inform decision-making.
- Drive improvements in data architecture, systems, and reporting capabilities.
- Own and execute the business systems strategy, ensuring alignment with growth priorities.
- Drive velocity and execution across system enhancements, analytics initiatives, and cross-functional priorities.
- Deeply integrate and prioritize initiatives across JSS Commercial, Operations, and Condition Monitoring teams.
- Streamline critical communications across Product Groups, Go-To-Market (GTM) teams, and process partners.
- Lead marketing and strategic communications to clearly articulate value propositions, insights, and growth opportunities.
- Lead a team of 5 direct reports, including roles focused on IT/data, dealer development, and marketing communications.
- Foster a collaborative, outcome-driven culture with clear goals, accountability, and development opportunities.
What We're Looking For
- Strong business development and commercial acumen, with experience supporting sales, contracts, and portfolio growth.
- Understanding of Resource Industries (RI) and/or Construction Industries (CI) business models.
- Ability to partner with dealers, customers, and commercial teams to enable growth through tools, insights, and processes.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to define, prioritize, and execute initiatives aligned to growth objectives.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, system enhancements, and metrics reporting.
- Experience with marketing strategy and commercial communications.
- Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients.
- Ability to lead, develop, and inspire diverse roles.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices for selling products, technology and services; ability to provide overall product/service 'value' and to differentiate support offerings that address clearly understood customer needs.
Team & Environment
You will lead a team of 5 direct reports. This is a diverse, cross-functional team focused on analytics, systems, dealer development, and marketing communications.
