RateHawk is hiring a Business Development Manager, East Africa

About the Role

At RateHawk, our mission is to create, distribute, and operate the most convenient travel products. We are looking for a Business Development Manager, East Africa to drive sales, forge strategic partnerships, and consolidate our presence in the local market. You will be instrumental in expanding our client base and developing lasting relationships within the region's travel industry.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and implement sales activities to hit targets and achieve growth in your assigned territory.
  • Sign up new partners, including tour operators, travel agencies, travel management companies, and OTAs.
  • Provide extended system training and onboarding for new partners.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with both new and existing partners.
  • Perform account management for an assigned portfolio, including first-level support.
  • Follow up with existing partners to provide additional training and identify ways to improve cooperation.
  • Prepare, execute, and manage commercial deals, including required documentation and technical setup.
  • Control partner compliance with commercial conditions and payment flow.
  • Spend approximately 30% of working time on business trips for client meetings and industry events.
  • Provide market and competitive environment analysis.
  • Submit regular comprehensive reporting through CRM and internal systems.
  • Initiate API deals with potential and existing partners.

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 3 years of successful experience in the full sales life cycle within the travel industry, focusing on B2B business development and account management.
  • In-depth understanding of the East Africa travel market and its B2B networks.
  • Proficient in Swahili and English.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
  • Comfort with data-driven decision-making, metrics, and numbers.
  • A proactive, ambitious, and motivated attitude with a results-focused approach.
  • Appetite for innovative technology and comfort in a fast-changing business environment.
  • A team player who can work across a wide range of cultural contexts.
  • Must be based in Kenya as a citizen or permanent resident.
