Thanks is hiring a Business Development Manager to join our US sales team. You will be responsible for driving publisher growth through a strategic outbound sales approach. This role focuses on identifying and closing new publisher partnerships, building scalable go-to-market strategies, and managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing. Thanks is a global company with a mission to eliminate ad fatigue and create advertising consumers love.
What You'll Do
- Work across all aspects of business development: identifying, researching, and approaching relevant businesses, preparing custom proposals, and working with founders to close sales.
- Build scalable go-to-market strategies and generate a robust pipeline of new opportunities by working directly with internal teams.
- Initiate contact with prospective clients through various channels (introductions, cold calls, emails, social media) to introduce Thanks' value proposition and assess their potential.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress in the CRM system HubSpot, leveraging LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other outreach platforms.
- Communicate openly and clearly with the team, sharing progress, risks and blockers, while contributing to a collaborative and feedback-friendly culture.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years experience in sales or business development roles in adtech/martech, digital marketing, or e-commerce sectors with a consistent track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Experience in a fast-growing startup or scaleup business where you've sold the unknown.
- Thorough understanding of prospecting and lead generation best practices, with a history of building and nurturing robust pipelines.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct thorough research on potential clients and industries to inform outreach efforts.
- Excellent communicator, capable of engaging stakeholders at various organizational levels, including C-suite executives.
- Organised, enjoys managing multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizes effectively, and maintains attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze market data and sales metrics to inform strategies and decision-making.
- Technical proficiency with CRM software (HubSpot), LinkedIn Sales Navigator and other sales outreach tools.
- Adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, with a desire to help bring structure to evolving systems and processes in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
- Ownership mindset - someone who can work independently, actively drives initiatives forward and takes responsibility for outcomes.
- A team-first attitude - humble, kind, and supportive of others.

- Knowledge of new outbound systems (Clay, n8n) to identify buyer signals and scale sales funnels.

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
