Royal London is looking for a Business Data Analyst to play a key role within our Group Data Office (GDO). You will be instrumental in delivering change by ensuring the highest standards of data quality and accuracy. Your work will involve collecting, mapping, analyzing, and curating information to support strategic decisions for creating and extending our data systems, helping to position Royal London competitively.
What You'll Do
- Provide internal analysis on a range of topics.
- Conduct source-to-target data optimisation, sequencing, and phasing of data sourcing to the Enterprise Data Model (EDM).
- Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions.
- Lead ongoing reviews of business processes and develop optimisation strategies.
- Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management.
- Ensure solutions meet business needs and requirements.
- Support user acceptance testing.
- Monitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projects.
What We're Looking For
- A practical understanding of what it means to be data-driven in decision making.
- Demonstrable experience working on complex data programs with a high level of interdependencies, preferably in financial services.
- Excellent numerical and analytical reasoning skills, with competence in at least two of the following: Microsoft PowerBI, Tableau, SQL, Microsoft Excel, Azure Synapse, or Databricks.
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to interrogate data and make pragmatic recommendations that can be elicited into requirements.
- The ability to focus on priorities and deliverables, deliver to fixed dates, and work under pressure.
- Experience managing your own workload and the work of others.
- Good stakeholder skills, able to effectively listen, communicate, challenge, and influence your immediate peer group and senior managers.
