Role Overview
As the Fraud Prevention Specialist for Southeast Asia, you’ll play a key role in safeguarding transaction integrity while supporting business growth. You'll combine analytical rigor with practical decision-making to identify fraudulent patterns, refine prevention systems, and ensure legitimate transactions flow smoothly across a dynamic payments ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for fraud prevention initiatives in the Southeast Asia region.
- Monitor key performance indicators and analyze trends to guide strategic improvements.
- Investigate transactional data to uncover suspicious activity and develop effective countermeasures.
- Design and implement anti-fraud rules and contribute to long-term prevention frameworks.
- Collaborate with data science teams to evaluate and enhance machine learning models.
- Deliver regular reports and presentations to internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Propose innovative solutions to emerging fraud challenges and optimize existing processes.
What You Bring
- Proven experience in fraud detection within digital payments or fintech environments.
- Strong command of SQL for querying and analyzing large datasets, including joins and aggregations.
- Familiarity with data visualization platforms such as Tableau or Looker.
- Understanding of statistical methods including hypothesis testing, backtesting, and risk assessment.
- Basic knowledge of machine learning concepts and model evaluation.
- Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A mindset oriented toward continuous learning and improvement through experimentation.
- Respect for diverse cultures and inclusive work environments.
Nice-to-Have Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis or automation tasks.
- Experience building dashboards or data views in Looker.
- Ability to document processes and establish new workflows.
- Additional language skills in Spanish, Portuguese, or Asian languages such as Korean or Japanese.
- Deep understanding of the Southeast Asian payments landscape.
