SCUSA Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is hiring a Box Room Operator to play a critical role in our production line. You will ensure continuous production by managing box supply, verifying product codes, troubleshooting equipment, and maintaining rigorous safety and quality standards.
What You'll Do
- Ensure box formers are continuously filled with the correct boxes for each production run.
- Verify box codes for accuracy and conduct change-overs between products.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues such as box jam-ups or gluer malfunctions.
- Operate a forklift to transport pallets of boxes for production.
- Keep your Supervisor informed of production status, problems, and equipment downtime.
- Report maintenance issues promptly using maintenance request forms or the paging system.
- Work safely by following all safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
- Follow all GMP and HACCP requirements and report food safety or quality concerns.
- Complete all required paperwork, charts, and logs in a timely and legible manner.
- Maintain general housekeeping and a clean, orderly work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
What We're Looking For
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- The ability to read, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic math skills to add, subtract, count, and tally production information.
- Availability to work the overnight shift from 6pm to 6am.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems in a standardized fashion.
Nice to Have
- Previous manufacturing experience.
- Experience in food operations.
- Knowledge of GMPs, general safety rules, and chemical right-to-know protocols.
