This position collaborates extensively with Finance, Revenue Operations, Business Systems, and Customer Experience to implement operational enhancements supporting growth, compliance, and customer confidence. You'll supervise critical billing initiatives, manage intricate escalations, and architect processes that fortify Vanta's billing infrastructure. What you'll do as a Billing Strategist at Vanta: - Guide cross-functional billing projects enhancing process efficiency, data integrity, and system scalability across order-to-cash functions. - Develop and implement improvements to billing workflows, documentation, and controls supporting audit readiness and compliance with GAAP and SOX standards. - Collaborate with Finance, RevOps, and Business Systems on system enhancement initiatives, including automation, integrations, and ERP optimizations. - Coordinate month-end and quarter-end readiness projects, synchronizing teams to minimize errors and accelerate closing timelines. - Evaluate and communicate billing performance metrics, identifying trends and process optimization opportunities. - Create and maintain billing standard operating procedures and project documentation, ensuring consistent execution and scalable growth. - Support and develop billing specialists by guiding project workflows, sharing best practices, and cultivating operational excellence. How to excel in this role: - 4–6 years of experience in billing operations, finance operations, or order-to-cash functions, preferably within SaaS, usage, or subscription-based businesses. - Demonstrated success leading cross-functional projects improving billing accuracy, automation, or compliance. - Comprehensive understanding of ERP, CRM, and billing platforms. - Knowledge of revenue recognition and SOX compliance standards. - Advanced spreadsheet proficiency with analytical capabilities. - Superior communication and stakeholder management skills. - Proactive, project-driven mindset with adaptability in dynamic environments.
