Arch is seeking an AVP, Business Solutions to partner with Strategic Ops leaders, cross-functional partners, and key stakeholders to drive strategic priorities and identify improvement opportunities. This role acts as the essential bridge between Underwriting and IT to implement technology and analytics-enabled workflows.
What You'll Do
- Partner with Strategic Ops leaders and stakeholders to drive enterprise-wide strategic priorities and analyze customer/employee journeys.
- Identify and advise on Operational and Technology initiatives required to support Underwriting across the enterprise.
- Collaborate with IT and UW leaders to define short- and long-term Ops and Tech roadmaps.
- Incorporate Strategic Analytics capabilities into Operations workflows.
- Advise on transformation initiative prioritization from an enterprise-wide perspective.
- Drive business requirements and act as the connective layer between Underwriting and IT.
- Bring market insights on leading practices to inform organizational business priorities.
- Partner to drive improvement in customer and employee journeys.
- Implement technology and analytics-enabled workflows in collaboration with IT, Strategic Analytics, and other enabling functions.
- Partner with IT and Lean Deployment Specialists to implement automation strategies.
- Collaborate with IT and stakeholders to review and provide feedback on IT value generation.
- Participate in developing the Triangulation Center of Excellence to support enterprise-wide objectives.
- Engage in cross-functional problem-solving across IT, Data, Strategic Analytics, and other functions.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in developing large-scale commercial and specialty Underwriting Systems (DuckCreek, Guidewire, Unqork, UW Platforms) and demonstrated value creation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to influence and present complex information to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to effectively communicate enterprise strategy and operational plans.
- Skill in conveying complex, technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to discern operational and tech implications of strategic business plans.
- Experience partnering with underwriting, technology, and analytics to deliver customer & business solutions.
- Proficiency in documenting strategic requirements and identifying opportunities to improve journeys.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in Teamwork, Interpersonal Skills, Communication, Technical, Problem Solving, and Service Skills.
- Self-starter demonstrating flexibility, accountability, and adaptability.
- Familiarity with Process Mapping, Lean Process Improvement principles, and Agile frameworks.
- Experience partnering with IT development teams in Agile delivery & execution through the software development lifecycle.
- Deep understanding of the insurance product lifecycle.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- 5-10 years of prior experience in Insurance Operations, Underwriting, Business Planning/Product Owner, IT, or a relevant role.
Nice to Have
- Certified Scrum Product Owner certification.
- Proficiency with Image Right, Policy Decisions Evolution, and Policy Writer.
- Experience in consulting or working at large commercial insurers.

- Compensation: $133,300 - $179,000/year.
