Shape the future of foundational education by designing impactful teaching and learning resources for children in underserved regions. In this role, you will collaborate with education specialists and country teams to develop structured pedagogy materials that advance literacy, numeracy, and socio-emotional development for vulnerable learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and refine teacher guides, student workbooks, and supplementary materials grounded in the science of reading and numeracy development.
- Ensure content is accessible to learners and educators across diverse linguistic and literacy levels, including those encountering instruction in an unfamiliar language.
- Integrate inclusive practices that support students with learning differences and promote gender equity and emotional well-being.
- Oversee formatting, illustration, and layout standards to maintain clarity and usability for community-based teachers.
- Develop training content and lead workshops for teacher trainers and educators, supporting effective implementation of pedagogical approaches.
- Provide ongoing coaching and technical support to country teams, helping them strengthen classroom practices and adapt materials to local contexts.
- Lead problem-solving in complex or ambiguous environments, identifying solutions and driving execution with precision and strategic thinking.
Qualifications and Experience
You bring a strong foundation in international education and a commitment to equitable learning. Essential qualifications include:
- A Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of experience in education programming within nonprofit or development settings.
- Deep understanding of foundational learning, structured pedagogy, and evidence-based literacy and numeracy instruction.
- Proven experience in curriculum design, material development, and literacy assessment validation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a track record of delivering high-quality, error-free educational resources on time.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in creating structured documents in Word, analyzing data in Excel, and designing clear presentations in PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.
Preferred Background
- A Master’s degree in education, curriculum development, or a related field.
- Three or more years of direct experience with structured pedagogy programs in low-resource settings.
