AECOM is hiring a Lead Engineer - Primary Substation

About the Role

This position leads the engineering and technical delivery of primary substation projects, ensuring design accuracy, compliance, and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning and execution of primary substation projects
  • Oversee electrical design and layout development for high-voltage substations
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes and regulatory standards
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, and protection engineering teams
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and technical deliverables
  • Conduct feasibility studies and system impact assessments
  • Review and approve engineering drawings and specifications
  • Support procurement and contractor bid evaluation processes
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers
  • Lead design reviews and risk assessment sessions
  • Ensure integration of safety standards in all project phases
  • Prepare and present technical reports to clients and stakeholders
  • Interface with utility clients and regulatory agencies
  • Troubleshoot design and field issues during construction
  • Promote innovation in substation design and automation systems
  • Maintain quality control across engineering outputs
  • Support business development through technical proposals
