BioMarin is hiring an Associate Director, Market Access – Poland and Eastern European Countries

About the Role

BioMarin seeks an Associate Director, Market Access to lead and coordinate all market access activities for Poland and Eastern European Countries. You will ensure effective planning and implementation of strategies to support our portfolio of rare disease treatments.

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate and deliver all market access activities across the Eastern European region, focusing primarily on Poland.
  • Prepare comprehensive Pricing and Reimbursement dossiers for diverse market archetypes, including HTA and budgetary-driven systems.
  • Support national and regional reimbursement processes, pricing negotiations, and contract renewals.
  • Ensure alignment with Global, International, and ENE Market Access teams and cross-functional regional partners.
  • Identify, map, and prioritize key stakeholders across assigned countries and institutions.
  • Engage with payers and agencies to prepare HTA submissions and build credible, long-term relationships.
  • Capture payer insights to inform internal planning for evidence generation and pricing strategies.
  • Activate local stakeholders to foster supportive discussions on rare and ultra-rare diseases.
  • Continuously monitor the health policy environment, HTA reforms, and payer trends across the region.
  • Liaise with coalitions, trade organizations, and interest groups in the rare disease space.
  • Provide regular briefings and strategic recommendations to Regional and Global teams.
  • Influence policy discussions to benefit access to rare disease treatments and BioMarin's interests.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including Medical Affairs, Marketing, Legal, and Advocacy.
  • Ensure seamless, proactive collaboration with the EEC Commercial team.
  • Provide Market Access perspective to cross-functional brand planning and strategic discussions.
  • Contribute to improved positioning of key assets in payer recommendations and formularies.
  • Analyze the evolving payer landscape to inform forward-looking strategies.
  • Ensure all activities adhere to local regulations, EU law, and internal BioMarin SOPs.
  • Travel regionally across the EEC and occasionally to broader European or Global meetings.

What We're Looking For

  • A University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, or a related field.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Several years of pharmaceutical industry experience, ideally in Market Access, Health Economics, Pricing & Reimbursement, or commercial functions.
  • Strong knowledge of reimbursement frameworks and decision-making processes in Poland and Central & Eastern Europe.
  • Proven ability to translate clinical and economic evidence into compelling payer value propositions.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external experts like HTA bodies and payers.
  • A track record of high accountability, delivering on commitments, and maintaining strong alignment.

Nice to Have

  • An advanced degree in Market Access, Health Economics, Public Health, or Health Policy.
  • Additional Central or Eastern European languages.
  • Previous regional, multi-country responsibility.

Team & Environment

You will be part of the Commercial Team for the Eastern European Countries cluster and the PAVE (Pricing, Access, Value, Evidence) team for Eastern and Northern Europe Market Access. You will report to the Area Director for Eastern European Countries with a dotted-line to the Eastern and Northern Europe Market Access Director.

Work Mode

This is a local-country based role in Poland, preferably in Warsaw.
