About the Role

Medtronic is hiring an Associate Account Manager - Diabetes on an 18-month fixed-term contract to expand sales and convert competitive products. You will support the Account Manager in sales, servicing, and case coverage within the greater Calgary area for our Diabetes business, upholding our mission to alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life.

What You'll Do

  • Promote and sell Medtronic's products and services within an assigned geographic area to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Develop and strengthen long-term relationships with stakeholders including healthcare professionals and distributors.
  • Pursue leads, assess customer needs, and provide product services to maximize benefits.
  • Promote and establish education on the company's products and services.
  • Conduct market research on customers and competitor activities.
  • Implement and adapt market development plans and strategies.
  • Communicate customer feedback on products to internal stakeholders.
  • Report complaints and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR).
  • Increase penetration and drive incremental sales for the assigned portfolio.
  • Assist with Sales & Marketing projects and clinical case support.
  • Meet or exceed sales goals and performance objectives.
  • Grow sales of the assigned portfolio and other programs.
  • Learn and understand the sales cycle in the OR environment.
  • Implement business and marketing strategy at the field level.
  • Assist with preparing sales forecasts with the Account Manager.
  • Segment and leverage the portfolio to maintain or become the key supplier at the institution level.
  • Understand technologies, procedures, and competitor products and outcomes.
  • Organize and cover territory on a regular and consistent basis.
  • Establish and apply detailed knowledge of account structure and objectives.
  • Manage and optimize field inventory, including consignment stock and product expiry.
  • Document all customer-initiated clinical and meaningful sales activity into Salesforce.
  • Ensure ongoing personal training on product lines and current literature.
  • Effectively leverage field tools and iPad content with customers.
  • Support account clinical support demands and requirements.
  • Provide required training to customers on portfolio products and services.
  • Be fully aware of the institution's strategic plan and match priorities to grow share.
  • Be involved in product trials and clinical evaluations.
  • Participate in major North American and local/regional meetings.
  • Ensure Medtronic’s ethical position is maintained and effectively manage compliance.
  • Comply with operating policies, business conduct standards, systems, and processes.

What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED AND a minimum 4 years of work experience in healthcare or engineering.
  • Associate’s Degree/College Diploma AND a minimum 2 years of work experience in healthcare or engineering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 0 years of experience required.
  • Computer literacy and training program experience.
  • Accountable for results, passionate, and driven.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Leads and embraces customer-responsive, market-driven changes.
  • Capacity to evolve in an ambiguous market dynamic.
  • Self-starter, able to work alone with minimal supervision.

  • Capacity to manage an account by understanding political dynamics, power structures, and buyer motivations.
  • Capacity to comprehensively introduce new concepts related to support, training, service, and partnership.

Team & Environment

This is an entry-level sales professional role on one or more individual or team accounts. Work is closely supervised, with the Account Manager serving as coach and mentor. You will report directly to the Account Manager.

Work Mode
