Hydro Building Systems France, part of Hydro | Global, is hiring an Assistant Controller and Taxes. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of accounting and tax information for three legal entities in France, in compliance with French and international standards and Hydro Group directives.
What You'll Do
- Lead the accounting department and coordinate team efforts.
- Actively collaborate with the Hungarian shared service center on the accounts payable process to guarantee and improve performance.
- Work with other organizations within Hydro to identify and implement best practices.
- Supervise month-end closing activities and the preparation of annual closing documents (tax return, annexes, management report, legal elements).
- Manage the company's tax and financial operations and participate in projects of any nature with tax implications.
- Actively contribute to the development of new projects and the evolution of accounting-related software applications.
- Be the guarantor for internal control documentation and tax documentation (reliable audit trail, transfer pricing, etc.).
- Maintain constant monitoring of changes in accounting and tax regulations.
- Work in close collaboration with the controlling and credit teams of each partner entity.
- Liaise and participate in exchanges with the group on any accounting or tax matters, in France or abroad.
- Manage relationships with third parties: auditors, administration, lawyers.
What We're Looking For
- Higher education in accounting (DSCG/DESCF, Master's, Business School or equivalent).
- At least 10 years of successful experience in an international group in a management role.
- Demonstrate rigor, autonomy, and responsiveness.
- Strong interpersonal skills with teams and external parties.
- Ability to explain finance to non-financial professionals.
- Desire to develop your team.
- Strong anticipation, analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Mastery of IFRS standards and corporate taxation.
- Fluent level of English, both written and spoken.
Nice to Have
- Experience with SAP.
Team & Environment
You will lead a team of 7 people, including 2 chief accountants, and collaborate closely with a shared service center in Hungary. You will report to the Group Accounting and Taxes Manager.
