Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is hiring a Foreperson to ensure the productivity of daily operations. You will work closely with management to determine recruiting needs and enforce safety protocols, while troubleshooting routine job site issues and mentoring the crew.
What You'll Do
- Plan, coordinate, and assign daily work for the crew after receiving orders from a General Foreperson or Line Clearance Supervisor.
- Conduct field training and retraining, instructing the crew on new or revised job units.
- Enforce safe work practices as specified by experience, judgment, company policy, and OSHA, conducting safety training in line with company procedures.
- Discuss with property owners issues such as access, power interruption, work scope, and responsibility for property damage.
- Obtain oral or written permission from property owners to perform required work.
- Promote and maintain good customer and public relations through effective work completion and appropriate crew behavior.
- Investigate incident reports and damage claims, settling minor claims.
- Maintain accurate records, timesheets, and reports related to crew performance.
- Control crew costs, including the effective use of people-power, work methods, and equipment operation.
- Furnish reports on orders completed, work units, crew time, and minor damage repairs.
- Periodically furnish reports on incidents, truck breakdowns, property damage, and new employee follow-up.
- Cooperate with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets or driveways.
- Set up barriers, warning signs, flags, and markers to protect employees and safeguard the public.
- Inspect and make or provide for necessary repairs to tools, trucks, and other equipment.
- Maintain good housekeeping on the truck and at the work location.
- Manage DOT maintenance and inspection requirements for all required vehicles.
- Stay informed on new equipment, specifications, standard practices, and company policies.
What We're Looking For
- Understanding of drawings and symbols representing lines, voltages, and line equipment.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task.
- Capable of adjusting to field requirements and taking independent action without close supervision.
- Able to safely drive an approved company vehicle.
- Able to work with hands above head for extended periods.
- Must have no fear of heights.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- A minimum of 3120 hours of working experience in the line clearance industry.
- A valid Commercial Driver's license (CDL).
Nice to Have
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
