Role Overview

The Area Manager is responsible for guiding a technical sales and service team across the San Francisco Bay Area, ensuring alignment with regional sales and profitability targets. This position plays a key role in expanding the customer base and strengthening long-term relationships through tailored water treatment solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage the area’s sales and margin strategy to meet financial objectives
  • Recruit, train, and lead a team of technical sales professionals, fostering continuous development
  • Drive customer retention and expansion by delivering measurable value through service and innovation
  • Create and implement sales strategies to grow market share and win competitive accounts
  • Expand territory presence by acquiring new clients and deepening engagement with existing ones
  • Provide ongoing coaching to field teams to improve performance in customer acquisition and account management
  • Partner with internal departments—including Commercial Operations, Technical Marketing, and Product Management—to design effective sales campaigns and refine selling approaches
  • Oversee pricing integrity and contract administration to protect margins and ensure compliance
  • Enhance profitability by aligning sales initiatives with service delivery
  • Conduct on-site customer engagements, including plant tours, product demonstrations, and technical training
  • Assess client requirements and recommend customized solutions to meet operational goals
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through consistent technical support and proactive communication
  • Maintain reliable sales forecasts to support planning and resource allocation
  • Promote a strong culture of Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) across all team activities
  • Build and manage cross-functional partnerships to elevate service quality and sales effectiveness
