Role Overview
The Area Manager is responsible for guiding a technical sales and service team across the San Francisco Bay Area, ensuring alignment with regional sales and profitability targets. This position plays a key role in expanding the customer base and strengthening long-term relationships through tailored water treatment solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and manage the area’s sales and margin strategy to meet financial objectives
- Recruit, train, and lead a team of technical sales professionals, fostering continuous development
- Drive customer retention and expansion by delivering measurable value through service and innovation
- Create and implement sales strategies to grow market share and win competitive accounts
- Expand territory presence by acquiring new clients and deepening engagement with existing ones
- Provide ongoing coaching to field teams to improve performance in customer acquisition and account management
- Partner with internal departments—including Commercial Operations, Technical Marketing, and Product Management—to design effective sales campaigns and refine selling approaches
- Oversee pricing integrity and contract administration to protect margins and ensure compliance
- Enhance profitability by aligning sales initiatives with service delivery
- Conduct on-site customer engagements, including plant tours, product demonstrations, and technical training
- Assess client requirements and recommend customized solutions to meet operational goals
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through consistent technical support and proactive communication
- Maintain reliable sales forecasts to support planning and resource allocation
- Promote a strong culture of Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) across all team activities
- Build and manage cross-functional partnerships to elevate service quality and sales effectiveness
