HSBC Group is seeking an Analyst for its Global Banking division to support the Commercial & Investment Banking (CMA) business teams. You will be responsible for generating strategic insights through data analysis and reporting, monitoring business performance, and supporting key strategic projects.

What You'll Do

Support CMA business teams at regional and global levels by providing strategic insights using data and analytical tools.
Monitor CMA business performance, including progress against the Annual Operating Plan, intensity measures, and missed business processes.
Manage reporting dashboards end-to-end for tracking KPIs and producing monthly management information reports.
Create monthly and quarterly business performance packs for senior management reviews.
Support senior bankers with data-driven insights on sector performance, industry trends, and competitor benchmarking.
Coordinate with Finance, Risk, and Coverage teams to align reporting with enterprise-wide standards.
Support workstreams for transformation and strategic projects, including GenAI initiatives, to drive the CMA business strategy.
Help streamline processes and identify efficiency improvements across the CMA department.
Work on ad-hoc projects and prepare briefing materials for senior leadership and regulatory reviews.

What We're Looking For

2-4 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, or a similar strategy-focused role, preferably within financial services.
A proven track record of working on high-impact strategic initiatives and delivering measurable results.
A master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
Deep understanding of the Investment Banking business model, product offerings, and market dynamics.
A dynamic, results-oriented, and proactive individual with strong relationship-building skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
Excellent proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Nice to Have

An MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
Working knowledge of Power BI, Python, or Excel VBA.
Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and performance tracking tools.
