Role Overview
As an Analyst in Underwriting Services, you will play a key role in evaluating mortgage applications to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance. Your work directly supports the goal of simplifying the path to homeownership through careful review and efficient processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review initial mortgage applications for accuracy and completeness, identifying any missing or inconsistent information.
- Validate financial documentation including credit reports, income verification, bank statements, and purchase agreements.
- Accurately input data from application materials into internal systems and underwriting platforms.
- Organize and upload required documents into designated portals to support smooth processing.
- Ensure all activities align with company policies, underwriting standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with applicants and internal teams to request additional information, clarify documentation, and provide status updates.
- Maintain detailed records of document approvals, rejections, and follow-up needs.
- Stay current with changes in mortgage regulations, industry practices, and underwriting trends.
- Contribute feedback and suggestions to improve review workflows and customer experience.
Qualifications
- Degree in MBA or a related field preferred.
- 0–1 year of experience in US mortgage pre-underwriting; entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong analytical abilities with a focus on interpreting financial records.
- Familiarity with US mortgage regulations, especially conventional loan programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously.
Tools & Technology
You’ll work with proprietary platforms Tinman® and Betsy™ to manage underwriting tasks efficiently.
Work Environment
This is an onsite role with support for commuting and meal provisions. Eligible employees may receive transportation and work-from-home allowances. The schedule includes night shift flexibility with applicable compensation.
