Prisma Health is hiring an Ambulatory Coder Professional Billing to ensure accurate and compliant medical coding. In this role, you will validate and assign codes for multi-specialty practices, maintaining adherence to all guidelines and contributing to our mission to inspire health, serve with compassion, and be the difference.
What You'll Do
- Validate and review applicable CPT, ICD-10, Modifiers, and HCPCS codes based on medical record documentation for inpatient, outpatient, and physician office settings.
- Adhere to all coding and compliance guidelines and maintain knowledge of coding updates and payer-specific rules.
- Resolve all assigned pre-billing edits efficiently.
- Communicate billing-related issues and participate in meetings to improve the overall billing process.
- Provide feedback to providers to clarify and resolve coding concerns.
- Assist in identifying areas requiring additional training.
What We're Looking For
- High School diploma, equivalent, or post-high school diploma / highest degree earned.
- Two (2) years of professional coding experience.
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC).
Nice to Have
- Associate degree.
Technical Stack
- Appropriate coding software and coding resources.
- Office equipment such as fax/copier.
- Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and database software.
Team & Environment
This is a non-management individual contributor role that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.
Work Mode
This is a fully remote, full-time day shift position based out of our Corporate office.
